STEREOPHONICS TO PLAY LIVE 8

Stereophonics have just announced that they will be flying back early from their Australian tour to play at the Live 8 concert.

The concert takes place on July 2 nd 05 in Hyde Park and aims to draw attention to world poverty. Tickets for the concert are free and available through a special text lottery. The text number will be announced at 8 a.m. on Monday 6 June via all UK radio stations.

Stereophonics singer Kelly Jones said "We all really wanted to be involved in the Live 8 gig. It doesn't take much for a band to sing a few songs and help bring awareness to a much bigger issue that'll help so many other people suffering in the world, so that's why we are playing. Long live rock n roll!"

The band are currently on a sold out tour of the US, and will be releasing a single “Superman” on June 20 th. This will be the second single to be taken from their platinum Number One album “Language. Sex. Violence.
