In this internet exclusive, watch the trailer for Romper Stomper for the very first time online.

YOU'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT!

Written and directed by Geoffrey Wright (Cherry Falls), ROMPER STOMPER is the critically acclaimed and highly controversial film that propelled Russell Crowe (A Beautiful Mind; Gladiator; The Insider) into international stardom. The winner of three Australian Film Institute Awards, including a well-deserved Best Actor Award for Crowe, this powerful and violent film is being released as a two-disc special edition DVD packed with extra features that include a feature length audio commentary by the director and an exclusive interview with Russell Crowe.

In a terrifyingly intense performance, Crowe plays Hando, the intelligent and charismatic but viciously sociopathic leader of a gang of racist skinhead misfits battling for white supremacy amidst the working class suburbs of Melbourne. One of the main targets for the skinheads' aggression is the local burgeoning Vietnamese community. Following several violent run-ins with a gang of Vietnamese youths, Hando and his cronies find themselves on the run from both the immigrants and the police. Meanwhile, a rebellious rich girl, Gabe (Jacqueline McKenzie), has joined up with the skinheads after becoming attracted to Hando. A wild and impulsive character, Gabe's tempestuous behaviour soon threatens the close relationship between Hando and his right-hand man, Davey (the late Daniel Pollock).

Brilliantly performed by Crowe, Daniel Pollock (Proof; Death In Brunswick) and Jacqueline McKenzie (Divine Secrets Of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood; Deep Blue Sea), ROMPER STOMPER is a provocative and challenging look at the destructive forces of ignorance and intolerance.

The two-disc ROMPER STOMPER: SPECIAL EDITION (cert. 18) will be released on DVD (16.99) by Contender Entertainment on 14th March 2005.
