|10. Hubert Hudson "Pao De Azucar" (12" - Anthrob Records)|
|Originally from the colourful neighbourhood of Queens, New York, Hubert Hudson now resides in Brazil where, judging by the flavour of this his second release on Arthrob, he no doubt spends endless hours absorbing the surrounding potent abundance of rhythmical and cultural influences. |
"Pao De Azucar" is a thunderous shout out to beat masters of the past such as Fela Kuti and Manu Dibango but with the added refinement of some Masters at Work induced percussion. A resonant fog horn laced with an afro chant and delicious keyboards make this a tune of massive proportions. Yousef provides the mix.
The NBC series ended a decade ago, but Will, Grace, Karen and Jack haven't changed a bit.
The album is Williams’ first release since 2013’s ‘Swings Both Ways’.
There's already an Oscars buzz surrounding this movie.
