|5. Skelf Skelf Coming at Ya (12" - Mo Wax)|
|One of the people to be there at the start of the now luminary Mo Wax label was solo artist Howie B. And now, one celebrity girlfriend and numerous plaudits later he returns to the place of his birth, the Mo Wax stable. |
The reasons for his return are not definite, but the reasons for the new pseudonym are more than clear. In an effort to change the tide, Howie has ditched all his high tech studio equipment in favour of a basic drum machine and sampler.
This, plus the fact that all four tracks featured on Skelf Coming At Ya were recorded live and in one take, has made for a raw and minimal but very vibrant sound. Think 23 Skidoo in their drum frenzied moments.
