Somewhere else

Following the success of the Album that was ‘Up All Night’ Razorlight release this single and what a bobby it is. Raw vocals, Johnny Borrel style, are becoming trademark stuff in indie music, or should I say the mainstream music world. Like a mix between Mick Jagger, Julian Casablanca, and the strain of Cobain unplugged style it sounds rather epic yet original too. This tune is a blatant festival sing along song, it even has sound of a live manic crowd dubbed over it, as if it needs it! Starting with what sounds like a piano leading to the gradual climax of Borrel shouting “I really, really wish I could be somewhere else” together with their trademark pummelling strumming method of

playing the guitar this is as super as can be. If you haven’t heard any of their music before this is a great way to be introduced. It is Razorlight at their most accessible without compromising any of their credibility that they have gradually and rightfully earned. They are a rare band that has both vast bundles of confidence that is on a plateau with their ability to play and write good relevant tunes. If you are going to any festivals this year be sure to look out for them.
