Queen Adreena - New Single - 'Pretty Like Drugs'

‘Not since Jane’s Addiction has a rock band combined such a strong artistic bent with such unpredictability.’ Kerrang!

‘Queen Adreena delight with their unearthly mesh of banshee rock, jazz and Zeppelin style riffery.’ The Guardian

‘With songs that are sharp stabs of guttural punk-devil rock dementia – Queen Adreena’s star is emphatically born’ N.M.E

Released on the 8th July 2002 on Rough Trade Records, Pretty Like Drugs is the first release in over a year from Queen Adreena.

Formed out of the ashes of Daisy Chainsaw at the tail end of the last millennium, Queen Adreena first came to the public’s attention with the album Taxidermy in 2000, with Kerrang! pronouncing it, “ferocious, compelling, uncompromising and stellar” whilst the N.M.E eulogised about their, “ability to walk the tightrope between serrated guitar madness and genuinely beautiful, barely-there minimalism”.

It was live however that Queen Adreena really made a name for themselves, touring the album allowed the band to hone their inimitable brand of frankly unsettling aggressive-art rock.

It was dotmusic who described this transformation best when they claimed, “There aren’t many bands you see these days and feel like you’ve witnessed a true rock ‘n’ roll show, like Ziggy and The Spiders or Patti Smith”.

Pretty Like Drugs an obscene feast of pile-driving riffs and eerie melody sees Queen Adreena bringing their incendiary live act into the studio and is remixed by Peter Reardon (Clawfinger, Insane Clown Posse).

Queen Adreena are:
Katie Jane Garside – Vocals -Crispin Gray - Guitar - Orson Wajih – Bass - Pete Howard – Drums
