Longview have stepped round the distractions of scenes and posturing to release a run of magically elevational singles and one exquisitely yearning debut album. Here to remind us that music is at its best when it cuts straight through to the emotional core, Longview have ascended from the streets of Manchester to Top 30 in the UK singles chart and on to recording in the US. But this shorthand version doesn't take into account time honing musicianship and crystallising an unshakeable belief in songs that reflect real human experience.

Mid summer 2003 saw the release of their first album, 'Mercury'. The collection of 12 glimmering studies in celestial melancholy triggered an avalanche of praise in the UK media. 'Mercury' was where they started to connect.

Now they're set to explore further with new single, 'In A Dream', released by 14th Floor Records on 28th June 2004. Written by bassist, Aidan Banks, it launches Longview into a gripping new phase.

The 7 inches are true collector’s items – gatefold wallets, coloured discs & an exclusive artworked poster. The demo version is here - featuring lead vocals by group heart-throb; bassist Aidan Banks – and a fantastic acoustic rendition of Joni Mitchell’s classic River, performed live on Steve Harris’ Virgin radio show. The CD contains an amazing collaboration with the UK’s finest glowering instrumental rockers; Glaswegian powerhouse Mogwai.

Live the band go from strength to strength. This summer sees a 9 date headline tour, climaxing at London's Astoria 23rd June, plus V, Move and Glastonbury festivals.
