Jessie Deluxe is a girl three-piece "grunge" indie band from L.A. in the spirit of P J Harvey/Elastica/Hole. The Barfly-Camden was dingy, sweaty and the stage is only about a foot high with the drums in a pit at the rear, everything you could want from a small rock venue. Jessie Deluxe - Live Review

Jessie Deluxe were second on stage, all playing a Virgin Mobile's Louder sponsored night. The girls suitably attired in the ubiquitous slacker ware of jeans and t-shirts, these ladies were looking duly punk.

The six song set lasted around 30 minutes and Jessie Deluxe gave the audience a vignette of their musical capabilities. Energetic tunes with powerful vocals from Jessica who is very sweet but doesn't appear too comfortable talking with the audience. They produced a good wall of sound for a three-piece and the drummer's very animated performance is akin to that of Animal from the Muppets. All in all a fantastic introduction to what looks like an electrifying new band.
