trademark boompty boomp of his debut album 'Squaredancing In A Round House' to the weird, wired and wonderful, you can never predict what he'll do next, and when you're lost in his world why would you want to? It's not often that Derrick plays festivals so make the most of an intimate four hours in his company! Never before will sweating seem like so much fun. Luke Solomon has built a fantastic reputation on his artist output as one half of the Freaks with best mate and label partner Justin Harris. At the Bacardi BBar , both Luke and Justin will be spinning everything from house to punk funk and out-there electronic sounds. The highlight will be the festival debut of the Freaks live band, showcasing tracks from their outstanding album 'The Man Who Lived Underground', alongside vocalists Stella Attar and Diz Washington, and guitar supremo Jonny Rock. Expect the unexpected with influences as diverse as Ron Hardy, Tom Tom Club, Ian Dury, Talking Heads, Green Velvet and NERD. DJ / producer Kenny Hawkes has been a pioneering influence on the dance music scene for well over a decade. Co-founder of the much-missed Space (Bar Rhumba) along with the ubiquitous Mr Solomon, Kenny continues to DJ all over the world. As a producer, he struck gold with 'Play The Game' (a huge European hit) and the downright sleazy 'Dance For Me', both released on Music For Freaks last year. Germany's Tiefschwarz are a worthy addition to this phenomenal roster. Adding some Euro-chic to this London/Chi-town-centric roster, the brothers Schwarz released their debut album for Classic last summer. They have cemented their reputations as top-notch producers of house with tracks like 'On Up' and 'Never', which are rarely out of any discerning jocks box. As DJ's they mix up soulful house with cutting edge electro and will be making their debut festival performance this summer. Last but by no means least is the man like Diz Washington - vocalist for the Freaks live band and dapper maestro of the Chi-town sound. Also making his festival debut, Diz is perhaps best known as Joshua's recording partner in the duo Iz & Diz, famed for their organic West Coast house stylings. And that's your lot. All under one roof at a UK festival for the first time EVER! You lucky lucky people... |
