Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn
Christmas Classics

Featuring the most famous Irving Berlin song of all, ‘White Christmas’, and starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire, ‘Holiday Inn’ is one of the most memorable musicals of all time.

Bing Crosby stars as Jim Hardy, a song and dance man who leaves the world of show business dreaming of a quieter life in Connecticut. Soon finding that farming is even harder work than performing, Jim decides to turn his farmhouse into an Inn where during national holidays only, holiday makers can enjoy a relaxing break complete with themed entertainment.

His vision should be a dream but it is not long before his former partner and rival in love Ted Hanover (Fred Astaire) arrives on the scene and shakes things up. With girls (Marjorie Reynolds and Virginia Dale) and an agent (Walter Abel) also on the scene, the story unfolds through spectacular production numbers and plenty of lavish song and dance routines.

In this Special Edition DVD, an amazing range of bonus features include the featurette A Couple Of Song and Dance Men containing an interview with Fred Astaire’s daughter, Ava, All-Singing, All Dancing: Before & After, Audio Commentary by film historian Ken Barnes with archive audio comments from Fred Astaire, Bing Crosby & John Scott Trotter, Cast & Crew Profiles, Theatrical Trailer and Production Notes.
