Jive Records 04.11.02 In May of 1999 Groove Armada released Vertigo, this was followed with Goodbye Country Hello Night Club in September last year, now only 1 year later the duo bring us Love Box. Love Box is no doubt the best material the Armada have ever released. Love Box is actually a bi-monthly club night that the Armada hold in various locations around London. The album features many collaborations. These include Neneh Cherry, Richie Havens, Kiminul, Sunshine Anderson, Red Rat & The Nappy Roots. Purple Haze was blasted out of our stereos last month, with dirty guitar hooks and the lyrical help of Red Rat(It all makes sense after the 'shrooms and the purple haze) the song springs to life. With a concoction of sound ranging from the typical house you would expect , to the more blissful 'Remember' a track that is the closest to the sound GA were made famous for, using of delightful effects and a helping hand from London Gospel Community Choir performing vocals creates one of the most down beat song on the album. This is followed by the deep funky bass and subtle nifty guitar hooks found on Madder that make a great dance track. | |
