The Girl Next Door - Review

Risky Business Rip Off. Emile Hirsch plays a straight A student who hasn’t lived life until he falls for the eponymous “girl next door”(Elisha Cuthbert). The one time porn star brings him out of his shell and their adventures in “coming of age-land” begin.

Boy meets girl. Girl from wrong side of tracks trying to become good. Boy falls out with girl. They make up and make money for the poor orphans. Everyone one lives happily ever after. Kind of sums the whole thing up.

No self respecting “Teen Movie” doesn’t put a lot of thought into the soundtrack and this film doesn’t disappoint. Queen, David Bowie, David Gray, Marvin Gaye, Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The Girl Next Door - Review

There’s a nice tribute to Catcher in the Rye author – the head teacher is called Mr. Salinger and If you can overlook the parallels with Risky Business I think that you will have a decent time. There are plenty of laughs, none of the gross out humor that has ruined so many comedies as of late, and Elisha Cuthbert’s beauty will completely distract you from the plot anyway.

Amusing. ?
