It is going to be hard to find a more eagerly awaited debut this year than this one from the Glaswegian quartet. Who with searing guitars, thumping drumbeats and of course cocky lyrics:

Are set to be this years The Datsuns and keep the new rock revolution rolling. ‘Darts Of Pleasure’ is an Interpol meets AC/DC with a sprinkling of The Hives, to make a lively and bouncy garage punk disco number to have you jumping around the room like a flea on E.

The B-side is not just making up the numbers, as ‘Van Tango’ is a typical garage rock number that is sure to produce a wave of overhead handclapping when played at future gigs. Should this track fail to make it onto the debut album, then it is sure going to be some album. The glory seeking Glaswegians experiment with a darker side on ‘Shopping For Blood’, which is an eclectic and daring track that mixes The D4 with The Sleepy Jackson and Interpol. Having already toured with the last mentioned band and having been the subject of more articles than a barrister, Franz Ferdinand are well and truly on the road to recognition.
