NEW SINGLE – SKY STARTS FALLING
12th September 2005

Heavenly Recordings/EMI Records

Doves release ‘Sky Starts Falling’, the third single lifted from their critically acclaimed Number 1 Album ‘Some Cities’ on 12 th September through Heavenly Recordings/EMI Records.

‘Sky Starts Falling’ is a powerful, dynamic track that has quickly become a live favourite. Apocalyptic concerns abound, the sound of a band that have conceived a track that is shorter and more forceful than what has gone before, but still highlighting a wonderful progression. Purposeful and full of vitality, ‘Sky Starts Falling’ is one of the defining tracks from ‘Some Cities’.

‘Some Cities’ is a breathtakingly diverse record yet brutal in its clarity. A succinct, mature record, it sees Doves hitting their stride and becoming a more concise, literate band, reflecting the changing times. The record ultimately captures the band’s love of northern soul.

Following phenomenal shows at Glastonbury, T In The Park and Somerset House and supporting U2, Coldplay and Oasis at recent stadium shows Doves are set to play V on 20/21 August. The band are currently on tour in Australia.
