With their single “What’s Hideous” clawing a respectable thirty something in the charts this week, Do Me Bad Things take their Jazz-Glam-Metal car crash on the road. “What’s Hideous” has whet our palettes, with their album not yet released but imminent we eagerly anticipate the show, which is a perfect chance to find out more about this rather intriguing Croydon based act. What we do know is they signed a record deal with Atlantic’s, Must Destroy Music imprint and share this label with the Darkness who had them opening their shows in the UK last year.

DMBT have 2 bands supporting them, a US band “Feeble Wiener” and the London based

“ Tokyo Dragons”. I guess the first thing you ought to know about the DMBD is they have 9 members; of which 5 sing vocals, Clare & Kimberley are full time backing singers whilst Nic, Chantal & Mark all alternate or collaborate on lead vocals.

The support bands kept the interest levels murmuring and when Do Me Bad Things took to the stage the venue was immediately

uplifted. No messing, the rock started straight away with the opening track, and the first single to be release by the group; “Time For Deliverance”, Nicolai & Chantal sang lead vocals, their voices compliment one and other really well, I couldn’t fault any of the singing or playing throughout the gig. This band has obviously been together for quite a while and the musical chemistry was bubbling away. “What’s Hideous” was definitely the other crowd friendly sing along. You must have been hiding in a cave if you haven’t heard this on the radio. The whole show was a spectacle, for each of the songs front man Nicolai sported a different outfit adding more sparkle and glamour to the mix.

Do Me bad Things projected a promising image of things yet to come on the forthcoming debut album “Yes” (due out 11th April). The crowd interaction was great, seeing as the album hasn’t been released yet, the DMBT draw such a wide spectrum of fans this band hit home to everyone leaving them begging for more.
