DOGS ‘She’s Got A Reason’ Fallout Records Monday 21st February 2005
The run up to the release of DOGS’ debut album ‘Turn Against This Land’ (due early summer) begins on February 21st 2005 with ‘She’s Got A Reason’.
The limited edition debut double A-side ‘London Bridge’ and ‘End Of An Era’ received universal praise, proving that they were literally at just the beginning of something big; DOGS now bound into the new year with their first official single release, ‘She’s Got A Reason’.
Having hit more radio milestones on their debut than most young bands could hope for, DOGS are back in the fray. ‘She’s Got A Reason’ is a tale of obsession, the lyrics and melodies conspire to form a single as compulsive as it’s subject matter - it’s three minutes twenty six seconds of pure vitriol, a snarling, spitting bitch of a track.
Anyone who can admit to being even slightly obsessive about a broken relationship, might empathise with the sentiments here. The guitar and bass become increasingly psychotic, a spiraling lunacy in the guitars descends down into the madness of Johnny’s yelped vocals, culminating at the chorus with,
“I liked you better when you liked me as well”
Fast proving himself to be the master of the brutal one-liner, lyricist for the band, Johnny Cooke should win himself the world championship with that one. And the fast growing legion of DOG lovers agree.
DOGS are on tour in the UK from 1st February
