Butterfly Boucher: I Can't Make Me 29/09/03 (AM Records) Single Review

Having blossomed from the catalyst of her role as bass player and backing vocalist in The Mercy Bell, Butterfly Boucher brings us a neat pop song about the frailty of human feelings. Her vocal style is pitched somewhere between Christina Aguilera and Bjork backed by neat, bouncy and tingling instrumentals. The lyrics at times are simple and if just written down would mislead someone into thinking it was a rap song:

"Paper, pen and piece of your heart, I can read it.
But where do I start? What to do ?"

Music - Butterfly Boucher: I Can't Make Me 29/09/03 (AM Records) Single Review

This snappy offering is taken from debut album 'Flutterby' which is in stores 13/10/03. This track will certainly tempt you into trying it, as Butterfly Boucher comes across as sincere and genuine. This is a trait that is sadly missing in the pop scene these days.
