The Orange British Academy Film Awards 2003 - Vote @ www.contactmusic.com
Synopsis:
Austin is called to action once more in this third instalment of the highly successful "Austin Powers" movie franchise. Teaming up with the mysterious Goldmember, Dr. Evil hatches a time-travelling scheme to take over the world, one that involves the kidnapping of Nigel Powers, Austin's beloved father and England's most renowned spy.
As he chases the villains through time, Austin visits 1975 and joins forces with his old flame, Foxxy Cleopatra, a streetwise and stylish detective. Together Austin and Foxxy must find a way to save Nigel and stop Dr. Evil and Goldmember from their mischievous mayhem.
Mike Myers once again takes on multiple roles, portraying Austin Powers, Dr. Evil and Fat Bastard, as well as his newest character, Goldmember. Joining the cast are Sir Michael Caine as Nigel Powers, singing sensation Beyoncé Knowles (of the multi-platinum group Destiny's Child) as Foxxy Cleopatra and Fred Savage (from the hit television show "The Wonder Years") as Number Three a.k.a., The Mole.

Die Another Day
The Orange British Academy Film Awards 2003 - Vote @ www.contactmusic.com

Synopsis:

007 (Pierce Brosnan) gets off to a rough start when he's captured and subsequently tortured during an assignment in North Korea. When the suave secret agent is eventually liberated, he embarks on a dangerous mission that involves tracking a terrorist named Zao (Rick Yune) to Cuba, where 007 also encounters Jinx (Halle Berry), a highly formidable and alluring fellow spy.

Soon Bond is back in England following a mysterious trail that leads to Gustav Graves (Toby Stephens), a flamboyant diamond mogul. After a rather bloody introduction, Graves invites 007 to Iceland, where he plans to unveil his enigmatic Icarus project. Before long, Bond and Jinx are reunited and battling Graves, Zao, and other villains bent on world domination.

With this Bond instalment, directed by Lee Tamahori, 007 catches up with the 21st century, and the results are grittier and more explosive than ever before. Although it begins as one of the darkest and most violent Bond films, the intense mood of DIE ANOTHER DAY is also counterbalanced by typically clever and funny moments.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
The Orange British Academy Film Awards 2003 - Vote @ www.contactmusic.com

Synopsis:

In his second term at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) is warned by an elf named Dobby that disaster will strike when he returns to Hogwarts.

Besides the fact that he is still disliked by Professor Snape (Alan Rickman) and hated by Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton), Harry gets off to a great start with his two best friends, Ron Weasly (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson).

Meanwhile, news of Harry's first year heroism has spread throughout Hogwarts and he finds himself the centre of much unwanted attention - most irritatingly, from the new Professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts, Gilderoy Lockhart (Kenneth Branagh).

Now all eyes are on Harry, and his so-called friends are beginning to doubt him. Everyone, that is, except Ron and Hermione and fragile young Ginny, who has shifted her focus to her mysterious new diary.

But Harry is not about to let his friends down and, with or without the support of Gilderoy Lockhart, he will confront the dark force lurking in his beloved school.

Lord of the Rings,
The Two Towers
The Orange British Academy Film Awards 2003 - Vote @ www.contactmusic.com

Synopsis:

At the end of part one, the Fellowship was forced to divide. "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" traces the journey of Frodo (Wood) and Sam (Astin) as they venture deeper into the land of the enemy - with the mysterious Gollum (Serkis) serving as their guide - while their companions in the Fellowship, Aragorn (Mortensen), Legolas (Bloom) and Gimli (Davies), struggle to rescue the captured Hobbits Merry (Monaghan) and Pippin (Boyd).

Their destinies now lie at Two Towers - Orthanc Tower in Isengard, where the corrupted wizard Saruman (Lee) waits, and Sauron's fortress at Barad-dur, deep within the dark lands of Mordor. In addition to Gollum, The Two Towers also introduces the people of Rohan, led by King Theoden (Hill), his niece Eowyn (Otto) and her brother Eomer (Urban); Faramir (Wenham), brother of Boromir; Wormtongue (Dourif); and the Ent, Treebeard.

After masterfully setting up the world created by J.R.R. Tolkien in THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING, Jackson continues the trilogy with the increasingly dark and battle-filled TWO TOWERS without skipping a beat. Although the director takes a few more liberties in adapting the second installment, he skillfully cuts from one scenario to the next, creating a tightly woven tapestry with the various storylines.

Men in Black II
The Orange British Academy Film Awards 2003 - Vote @ www.contactmusic.com

Synopsis:
It has been four years since the alien-seeking agents averted an intergalactic disaster of epic proportions. Kay (Tommy Lee Jones) has since returned to the comforts of civilian life while Jay (Will Smith) continues to work for the Men in Black, the highly funded yet unofficial government agency that regulates all things alien on Earth.
While investigating a seemingly routine crime, Jay uncovers a diabolical plot masterminded by Serleena, an evil Kylothian monster who disguises herself as a sexy lingerie model. It's a race against the clock as Jay must convince Kay - who not only has no memory of his time spent with the agency, but is also the only person alive who has the expertise to save the galaxy - to reunite with the MIB before Earth is destroyed completely.
As with the first movie, MIB II features plenty of enjoyable scenes, including an underground romp involving a subway-sized alien and Frank the Dog's head-out-of-the-car-window rendition of "I Will Survive."

Monsters Inc.
The Orange British Academy Film Awards 2003 - Vote @ www.contactmusic.com

Synopsis:

Monsters, Inc. is the largest scare factory in the monster world and the top Kid Scarer is James P. Sullivan (John Goodman), a huge, intimidating monster with blue fur, large purple spots and horns, known as "Sulley" to his friends. His Scare Assistant, best friend and roommate is Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal), a lime green, opinionated, feisty, one-eyed monster. In the world behind our closet doors, monsters like Mike and Sulley work hard for their income. To be exact, the monster world depends on our children's screams: It is their energy that makes light bulbs glow and cars drive.

Scaring children isn't such an easy job, though - monsters believe children are toxic and that direct contact with them would be catastrophic. The film's cast also includes the factory's crab-like CEO Henry J. Waternoose (James Coburn), the beguiling serpent-haired receptionist Celia (Jennifer Tilly), and the sarcastic chameleon monster, Randall Boggs (Steve Buscemi), who schemes to replace Sulley as Monsters, Inc.'s top Scarer. Making an uninvited visit from the human world is Boo (Mary Gibbs), a tiny girl who turns the monster world upside down.

In one night, Danny's handpicked 11-man crew of specialists - including an ace card sharp (Brad Pitt), a master pickpocket (Matt Damon) and a demolition genius (Don Cheadle) - will attempt to steal over $150 million from three Las Vegas casinos owned by Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia), the elegant, ruthless entrepreneur who just happens to be dating Danny's ex-wife Tess (Julia Roberts).
To score the cash, Danny will have to risk his life and his chance of reconciling with Tess. But if it all goes according to Danny's intricate, nearly impossible plan, he won't have to choose between his stake in the heist and his high-stakes reunion with Tess…or will he?

Spiderman
The Orange British Academy Film Awards 2003 - Vote @ www.contactmusic.com

At the same time, scientist and businessman Norman Osborn (Willem Dafoe), after exposure to an experimental nerve gas, develops an alternate personality himself, the super-strong, psychotic Green Goblin!
Peter Parker has to juggle three things in his life; his new job at the local newspaper under a perpetually on-edge employer, his battle against the evil Green Goblin, and his fight to win the affections of beautiful classmate Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst), against none other than his best friend Harry Osborn (James Franco), son of Norman Osborn!

Star Wars Episode 2
Attack of the Clones
The Orange British Academy Film Awards 2003 - Vote @ www.contactmusic.com

Together they must protect Senator Padme Amidala (Natalie Portman) from a militant group of political activists who are trying to assassinate her. This group is led by the evil Count Dooku (Christopher Lee).

In addition, Anakin begins to show his rebellious attraction to the dark side - which will eventually conquer him, when he becomes the future Darth Vader.

The story is set 10 years after STAR WARS EPISODE 1: THE PHANTOM MENACE, and there are appearances by some of PHANTOM's characters, including the much-maligned Jar Jar Binks. But CLONES also contains familiar faces from the original STAR WARS: the lovable droids R2D2 and C3PO appear here, as does Yoda, who plays a key role in this film.
