Ozzy Osbourne's former doctor is to be investigated by California's state medical board over claims he over prescribed addictive drugs to the rock star.

Medical officials have demanded DR DAVID KIPPER hand over Osbourne's medical records after receiving complaints he was handing out more addictive drugs than necessary to high-profile patients.

And Ozzy and his manager/wife Sharon Osbourne have since filed a complaint with the Medical Board of California, alleging Kipper over medicated the rock star for a year.

Osbourne sought the doctor's aid in 2002 as he fought to take charge of an addiction to prescription drugs. Kipper oversaw a detoxification project at the singer's Hollywood home and accompanied him on tour. He even appeared in episodes of reality TV show The Osbournes.

Kipper also treated the rocker when he suffered an emotional collapse following the news that Sharon had been diagnosed with colon cancer in 2003.

Upon legal and medical advice, the couple fired Kipper last year (03) and set about filing a complaint about his practice. That had to be delayed after Osbourne was injured in a quad bike crash just before Christmas (03).
