Rap stars Outkast led the pack of nominees for the 35th NAACP (NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF COLORED PEOPLE) AWARDS, picking up six nods for their album SPEAKERBOXXX/THE LOVE BELOW.

Destiny's Child frontwoman Beyonce Knowles garnered five nominations, including Best Female Artist for her solo efforts on her summer (03) album DANGEROUSLY IN LOVE.

Luther Vandross, who is still recovering from his stroke last year (03), picked up four nominations for his most successful album to date, DANCE WITH MY FATHER.

The awards will be presented on 6 March (04).
