Outkast rapper Big Boi has dedicated his upcoming solo album to his late father - because he recorded it while "grieving" his death.
The Hey Ya! hitmaker began work on Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty just weeks after his beloved father passed away, and he used the album to help heal his wounds.
He tells NME magazine, "My father... was a real tough guy, an Air Force pilot. He passed away just before I started making this record and it was my nod to him. I'm the oldest of five, and I'm gonna keep that torch burning. In a way, this record is me grieving. I can pour out things that I wouldn't necessarily even be able to talk to my mum about."
