Retired boxer-turned-entertainer and promoter Oscar De La Hoya has ruled out a return to the ring because he can no longer fight like he did when he was a world champion.
The 39 year old has taken to Twitter.com to address rumours of a comeback, revealing he may have started them by telling reporters he still thinks about fighting again.
De La Hoya writes, "I think about fighting again every single day. I love boxing. It kills me that I wouldn't be able to compete at the highest level and the very best. Therefore, I will stay retired for good."
The boxer retired from the sport after losing to Manny Pacquiao in 2008.
