Orlando Bloom has vowed to shun big-budget Hollywood productions because he thinks independent movies will make him a better actor.

The British star is proud of his roles in epics Troy and Kingdom of Heaven, but is devastated by the critical mauling his lead performance in the latter received and is determined to hone his skills.

He Bloom says, "I would do it again at the drop of a hat.

"I was 27 when I started shooting that movie, 28 when I started doing this one - ELIZABETHTOWN - and I've done maybe only 10 movies.

"There is a lot to learn. There is a lot out there that I still don't know. I want to learn.

"I am keen to do things that are not just big movies. I would like to keep learning my craft."
