Movie heart-throb Orlando Bloom is bemused by reports he is being lined-up to play a young James Bond.

Recent rumours claim the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN star is being courted to play a youthful superspy in forthcoming books based on author CHARLIE HIGSON's YOUNG JAMES BOND novels - an idea endorsed by the writer himself.

But Bloom, 28, has heard nothing. He tells gossip site THE SCOOP, "My manager, my agent have never mentioned it to me, not to date.

"Young or old it has never been mentioned to me. I don't know where that came from, but I've never heard a whiff of it."
