Otisa C. Strickland is suing the 62-year-old in a lawsuit filed on Tuesday (11Oct16) in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi, claiming Winfrey copied the concept for the series, which features life coach Iyanla Vanzant, from a treatment her proposed show The Agency.

"The two television shows are virtually identical," Strickland writes in the legal papers. "Both shows involve a counselor that travels all over the United States to people homes (sic) to counsel them about their problems."

In 2011, Strickland launched a copyright claim against another one of Winfrey's shows, In the Bedroom with Dr. Laura Berman, and she alleges the media mogul gained access to her show concepts through the case, according to TheWrap.com.

Strickland is seeking unspecified damages. A spokesperson for the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) has yet to comment on the lawsuit.

Iyanla: Fix My Life premiered in 2012 on OWN.
