An Australian receptionist has been forced to cancel a date with One Direction singer Zayn Malick after receiving death threats from angry fans of the group on Facebook. Anna Crotti was working at a Sydney radio station when the British group turned up for an interview. The 20-year-old looked after the group before the chat, but later discovered Zayn and Harry Styles had been talking about her during the show.
According to the UK's Daily Mirror, Harry said, "Anna. She's lovely. She's got beautiful eyes. Very polite", with Malick added, "She's hot". Anna later explained, "A security guard came up to me. I thought I was in trouble but he said, 'The lads want your number'.I got a text later saying hello. I asked who it was and it was Zayn". After arranging to meet later in the day, Anna was forced to cancel the date after being bombarded with aggressive messages and death threats on Facebook. She explained, "By the end of the day, it got a bit too scary. Random girls were abusing me on Facebook.Girls were calling the radio station and giving me s**t. Mothers even called me in tears, demanding to know if I knew where One Direction were because their daughters wanted to meet them". Anna later messaged Zayn, saying, "Maybe it's not a good idea we meet up".
One Direction appear to be causing quite a stir on their world tour. The group have been followed by thousands of screaming fans during their trips to the United States and Australia. Earlier this month, they became the first British group to top the U.S. Billboard Album Chart with a debut release.
