One Direction continued their quest for world domination by sending fans wild in Australia after touching down for four live concerts this week. The occasion appeared too much for some young girls, who were photographed weeping as the boys passed through Sydney airport, reports the UK's Metro newspaper.
The group wasted no time in recruiting new Australian fans, with frontman Harry Styles donning a pair of swimming shorts and diving into the water aboard a luxury yacht in Sydney harbour. Band-mates Louis, Zayn and Liam also took time out of their hectic schedule to catch some rays, though Niall Horan kept covered up. The fan reaction in Australia echoed that in the United States, where the group were mobbed by fans in scenes similar to the Beatles arrival in the country in the 1960's. The band actually outdid the Fab Four and became the first ever British group to top the Billboard Album Chart with a debut release. After a successful mini-tour in the States, the group raised their profile even further with appearances on The Today Show and Saturday Night Live, where they featured in a skit with Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara. One Direction are rumored to be releasing a single with teen heartthrob Justin Bieber, after numerous members of the band tweeted that they had been working in the studio with the singer.
