Prolific designer Oleg Cassini died in hospital yesterday (17MAR06), from a broken blood vessel in his head. He was 92. Cassini, who turned Oleg Cassini Inc into a fashion powerhouse, is widely credited with helping JACQUELINE KENNEDY ONASSIS become a style icon during her years as America's first lady. The Italian was also famed for his work on film sets and dressed screen sirens Grace Kelly and Marilyn Monroe. He is survived by his wife MARIANNE.
