Oasis' drummer Zak Starkey discovered an unusual new instrument to appear on the band's new album DON'T BELIEVE THE TRUTH - an empty cereal box.

Starkey, the son of former BEATLE Ringo Starr, has played with the LILA rockers since the band sacked their drummer Alan White last year (04).

The talented drummer tapped out the rhythm on a cardboard box for the sixth track on the new record, titled THE MEANING OF SOUL - a song penned by Liam Gallagher.

Gallagher says, "The drums sounded a bit Buddy Holly at first.

"There was this box of cereal lying round in the studio and Zak started hitting that and it sounded mega."
