The rocker was accepting his Icon of the Year prize when he criticised Conservative William Hague, one of the senior members of Britain's coalition government, for taking time off to attend the glamorous ceremony.
Gallagher said, "It's nice to see the Foreign Secretary here while there's s**t going on all over the world that he should be sorting out."
The Wonderwall hitmaker, a staunch supporter of Britain's Labour Party, also appeared unhappy to see the Mayor of London Boris Johnson, who is also a member of the rival conservative Tory Party.
Spotting Johnson, he added, "Welcome to the Tory Party conference, by the way. Is this what it's like at the Tory Party conference?"
Johnson was at the prizegiving to pick up the Politician of the Year accolade for the third consecutive year.
