American group MAROON 5 and French singer JENIFER (corr.) were the big winners of the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes, France last night (22JAN05).

The SHE WILL BE LOVED rockers took home the Best International Newcomer and Best International Song accolades for THIS LOVE at the star-studded bash in the city's Palais des Festival.

U2 frontman Bono, who picked up a Special Achievement gong, announced the Irish supergroup would not be performing as scheduled, due to one of his bandmate's ailing children.

Jennifer Lopez and a troupe of school uniform-clad dancers performed her new song GET RIGHT, while NRJ winner Usher - who was named Best International Male Artist, sang his dancefloor anthem Yeah?!.
