Half-sisters Norah Jones and Anoushka Shankar have teamed up in the studio to record a new track.

Shankar recruited Jones for The Sun Won't Set in the weeks following their father Ravi Shankar's death in December (12).

She created the tune with collaborator Nitin Sawhney and insisted her dad's lovechild was the perfect duet partner.

She tells Rolling Stone, "I sent a rough mock-up to Norah and she liked it. Before traveling to New York, Nitin and I redid a rough arrangement for her to sing over.

"Once we were all in a room together, we decided to chuck everything and just record live, and I'm so grateful we did. We were able to really listen and respond to each other and somehow really locked in to perform a live take together beautifully, even though the three of us had never played all together before."

The track features on Shankar's new album Traces of You, which will be released on 24 October (13).
