He may have sold 50 million albums and had eight UK number ones, but Noel Gallagher found himself off the A-list earlier this week when he was turned away from SIR Elton John's post-Oscars party.
The Oasis guitarist and songwriter who is in Los Angeles working on the band's new album turned up at Elton's party with a group of "scruffy hangers-on", according to the Daily Mirror, but was refused entry by security.
Gallagher and his entourage were also reportedly denied access to another big party, this time held by Prince.
An unnamed source told the newspaper: "Noel was texting the organisers trying to get in but they weren't having any of it. In the end, they all sloped off looking dejected."
Oasis's new album is set for release later this year, having been recorded at London's Abbey Road studios in November and December.
The whole band recamped to LA in February to supervise the mixing process.
Stars who did get in to Elton's party were treated to the lavish spectacle the world has come to expect from the piano-playing knight.
The night's surprise winner, Marion Cotillard, was there, along with Heidi Klum and SEAL, Jeremy Piven, Minnie Driver, SEAN "PUFFY" COOMBS, Sean Penn, LIONEL RITCHIE and Simon Cowell.
The party was the 16th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation party and took place at the Pacific Design Center in LA.
Amongst the highlights of the party were a performance from Sir Elton and his band, and guest spots from Mary J Blige and the Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears.
