British folk rockers Noah and the Whale have cancelled their forthcoming U.S. tour - in a bid to focus on recording their second album.
The group were set to perform at dates across America in March (09), but have decided to scrap the string of gigs so they can work on releasing a follow up to their debut LP Peaceful The World Lays Me Down.
In a statement on their MySpace profile, the band writes, "It is with no little remorse and disappointment that we are compelled to cancel these dates.
"These words are being typed in the studio as we make progress on the next Noah and the Whale album. Between commitments in hereto-neglected Europe, we have made the sad but important decision to take time to develop these recordings over the winter months."
