Former No Doubt rocker Gwen Stefani is embarrassed by new album THE SWEET ESCAPE - as it's made up from her debut's "leftovers".
The HOLLABACK GIRL star, whose second album is released today (04DEC06), admits she didn't intend to make a follow up to LOVE ANGEL MUSIC BABY and was torn between motherhood and making music - but now insists she's happy doing both.
She says, "I never intended to do another solo record. It's kind of embarrassing talking about it.
"I had a couple of amazing tracks left over from the last one ... but I wanted to have a baby. Now I have both. I'm just going with the flow."
But despite using leftover tracks on The Sweet Escape, Stefani believes the tunes are a departure from her previous solo sound.
She says, "The last one was a total dance record. Not serious, very light. This one is way different.
"The inspiration for this one is `it doesn't have a direction', making it very modern."
