The 64-year-old disco legend - who has collaborated with the likes of Sister Sledge, David Bowie, Pharrell Williams, Daft Punk and many more over his career spanning five decades - has played the music extravaganza twice in the last five years in both 2013 and 2014.
It's perfect timing for Chic to play Glastonbury as they are expected to release their first album in 24 years in 2017, 'It's About Time'.
The 'Le Freak' hitmaker said he couldn't release the record last year because of the many deaths in the music industry and instead decided to wait till this year to drop the LP as it would be put out to coincide with their 40th anniversary.
He previously explained: ''When Prince suddenly died, it was like I'd been struck by lighting twice. It made me ''see'' why I named the next CHIC album ''It's About Time.'' Time is so important, and what we do with it is everything.
''I flashed upon this fact: 2017 is the 40th anniversary of the world's most influential disco in history, Studio 54. It's also the 40th anniversary of CHIC. Our song ''Le Freak'' became one of Studio 54's massive anthems.
''In 2017, we will pay homage to the club that put us on the international map by doing a series of concerts, afterparties, VIP Packages, films and singles - then drop the full album along with a BIG SURPRISE!
''In 2016, I couldn't release an album about the joy of life in A Year of So Many Deaths. (sic)''
It comes after Ed Sheeran - who previously played the festival in 2011 and 2014 - confirmed he's headlining the event with Foo Fighters and Radiohead.
Aside from the 'Shape of You' hitmaker, Foo Fighters and Radiohead, grime superstar Wiley also seemed to confirm he would be playing one of the other stages.
He previously tweeted: ''Can't wait for @GlastoFest its gonna be sick. (sic)''
Later, the 'Wearing My Rolex' hitmaker - whose real name is Richard Cowie - added: ''Come to @GlastoFest with me I need to show you something. (sic)''
