'snooki' Polizzi, one of the stars of MTV's hit reality show 'Jersey Shore', was in custody yesterday (30th May 2011) after crashing her vehicle into a police car, reports Tmz.com. Snooki, real name Nicole Polizzi, was in Italy taping the fourth season of her reality show when she rear-ended the patrol car.
An eye-witness said the crash wedged Snooki's car between the police car and the highway wall. Her 'Jersey Shore' cast-mate Jeni Farley was also riding in the vehicle at the time. Farley, better known as J-Woww, had to exit through the car window because the door was blocked off by the wall. Officials in Florence have banned the Jersey Shore production team from shooting at some of the city's most historic locations, including the renowned Uffizi Gallery and the Boboli Gardens. The city's mayor Matteo Renzi also announced that the reality stars must not shoot in bars and clubs and must not be seen drinking in public areas. Despite the crash, authorities have confirmed that zero alcohol was involved in the accident and that Snooki was not formally arrested despite being held in custody.
Back in July 2010, Snooki Polizzi was cited on a count of disturbing the peace in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. In September, a plea bargain was agreed in which Judge Damian G. Murphy sentenced the star to community service and a $500 fine. The arrest was taped and featured in season three of 'Jersey Shore'.
