Nicole Kidman has taken advantage of her extended stay in Australia following the collapse of her movie EUCALYPTUS - she's honed her kitchen skills to become a gourmet chef.

The Australia-based film, set to star Kidman, Crowe and Hugo Weaving, was cancelled indefinitely last month (FEB05) due to script problems.

But rather than wallow at home and reflect on what could have been, Kidman has been basking in the fine foods her homeland offers - and learned how to turn the tasty produce into mouth-watering meals.

She says, "I can do lamb shanks and home-made gnocchi. It's wonderful to be able to go to the fish markets and choose your dinner."
