OSCAR-winning actress Nicole Kidman insists her charity work is more important than pursuing her hugely successful acting career.

The Australian star, who sported a pink wristband at last week's (14APR05) British premiere new movie The Interpreter in tribute to her late mother JANELLE's battle with breast cancer, supports a host of women's health charities in addition to her work with UNITED NATIONS children's charity Unicef.

She says, "I find trying to solve problems and save lives is far more important than my film career. I've been put in a position where I've been given a lot. I think it's my duty to give something back."
