Actor Nicolas Cage forced National Treasure film-makers to alter plans when he lost his voice after a raucous night of karaoke.

The OSCAR winner regularly exercises his vocal chords on the sing-along machines as a way of unwinding after a hectic day on the film set.

But his penchant to "scream" along to songs forced studio bosses to reschedule crucial voice-over sessions when Cage arrived at work unable to speak.

Cage says, "It's my way to de-stress. My favourites are classics like MY WAY and I do it SEX PISTOLS-style. I like to scream the songs out instead of singing.

"When we were filming National Treasure I lost my voice after a night out so I had to dub the scenes later."
