Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts is mortified by the outfits she wore onstage at the start of her career, blaming a tiny budget for her fashion failures.
The five-piece band formed via U.K. TV show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, and went on to become one of the most successful girl groups of all time.
But Roberts hates looking back at footage of their early concerts, as she's embarrassed they were unable to afford decent costumes to wear when performing.
She tells Britain's InStyle magazine, "I cringe at some of the things we wore in the early days of Girls Aloud. By the time we recorded our last album, we had a bigger budget, so our clothes were nicer. I loved the glittery dresses we wore for The Promise single (in 2009). They were gorgeous pieces of material clipped up at the back!"
