Nickelback are leading the field at the Juno awards, with five nominations in Canada's national music honours.

The Rock Star band is nominated for best single, best group, best producer and best album of the year.

And they will compete against Feist, the Lost Fingers, Celine Dion and Hedley - the latter each securing three nominations - for the Juno fan choice awards.

Montreal artist Sam Roberts was also nominated multiple times, with nods in the artist, rock album and video (two) categories.

The international album of the year category features heavyweight rock bands Metallica (Death Magnetic), Guns N' Roses (Chinese Democracy) and AC/DC (Black Ice).

British band Coldplay follow their multiple Grammy nominations with an international album nod for Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends while former surfer Jack Johnson is also nominated for Sleep Through the Static.
