Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter struggled to press on with concerts after his sister's death in February (12), but insists performing was ultimately "cathartic".
Leslie Carter passed away after suffering a reported prescription drug overdose and Nick took a short hiatus before heading back on tour for a series of solo shows.
The pop star admits it was difficult to pick himself up again, but he decided to dedicate the gigs to his sister's memory as she had loved to watch him onstage.
He says, "It was definitely tough. For me (performing) was cathartic, it's a way for me to get through my emotions. I've always used singing and performing as my outlet to really help me. It was only natural for me to do that in this situation to get through it."
