Nick Cannon, the American actor and comedian, is set to host a new nationally syndicated weekly countdown radio show, reports Billboard.com. 30-year-old Nick is currently the morning personality at Wxrk in New York.
Nick Cannon, the husband of pop superstar Mariah Carey, will premiere 'Cannon's Countdown' on 23rd April 2011 and the show will be broadcast on CBS Radio stations and syndicated nationally by Citadel Media. The four-hour show will feature a mix of music and celebrity interviews. Although he declined to reveal any further details of the show, Cannon said, "Last week I spoke with Britney Spears and I had Chris Brown in the studio before that. Whatever is happening in pop culture, I'm there. Cbs Radio has been an incredible partner. With the success we've had with my morning show, I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to reach radio listeners nationwide". Chris Oliviero, the senior Vice President of programming at Cbs Radio said he was thrilled at the acquisition of Cannon, adding, "Nick's uncanny sense of humor and engaging style will bring a new and modern twist to the countdown format".
