Nicholas Hoult's new zombie movie Warm Bodies set the U.S. box office on fire over the weekend (01-03Feb13) after raking in $20 million (£12.5 million) in ticket sales.

The teen romantic comedy bumps Jeremy Renner's Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters to two, with takings of $9.2 million (£5.8 million).

Silver Linings Playbook, featuring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, places third with earnings of $8.1 million (£5.1 million), horror film Mama comes in fourth ($6.7 million/£4.2 million) and Oscar-nominated Zero Dark Thirty is in fifth place ($5.3 million/£3.3 million).

Sylvester Stallone's Bullet to the Head failed to break into the top five, missing the mark at number six ($4.5 million/£2.8 million).
