After the 58-year-old champion was killed yesterday (20.05.11) when he suffered a heart attack at the wheel of his car - of which his wife of just over a year Lynn Payne was also a passenger, but escaped with "minor injuries" - condolences have been pouring in.
In an official statement, WWE (World Wrestling Federation Entertainment) said: "Our sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends. We wish a speedy recovery to his wife, Lynn. Poffo will be greatly missed by WWE and his fans."
Meanwhile, fellow wrestler Hulk Hogan paid a moving tribute to Randy, admitting the pair had only recently patched up their differences after not speaking for a decade.
Writing on his twitter page, he said: "I'm completely devastated, after over 10 years of not talking with Randy, we've finally started to talk and communicate.
"He had so much life in his eyes & in his spirit, I just pray that he's happy and in a better place and we miss him.
"We miss him a lot. I feel horrible about the ten years of having no communication. This was a tough one.
