Warner Bros. has big plans for the 75th anniversary of the MGM classic Wizard Of Oz -- big as an IMAX screen, it turns out. The studio said on Tuesday that the film is being digitally converted to IMAX and 3D and will be shown on IMAX screens during a special one-week engagement beginning Sept. 20. The remastered version will then be released on Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, DVD and UltraViolet on Oct. 1. A special 75th anniversary set will also be released that will include a number of new collectibles. In addition the studio announced that it plans to release a restored version of the 1953 3D classic House of Wax in all the home-video formats on Oct. 1.
