Chinese director LI HONGQI is celebrating after his movie WINTER VACATION scooped the top prize at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland on Saturday (14Aug10).
The picture, about a group of aimless youths living in a village in northern China, was named Best Film, while Canadian moviemaker Denis Cote took home the Best Director prize for Curling, a film about the strange private life of a father and daughter.
Curling's Emmanuel Bilodeau earned the Best Actor title, while White White World's Jasna Durici was presented with the Best Actress award for her work in the Serbian film.
