TWISTED TOWER DIRE rocker SCOTT WALDROP regrets not making peace with his former bandmate ANTHONY 'TONY' TAYLOR before he died in a traffic accident on Saturday (06Feb10).
Taylor, 42, lost control of his Harley Davidson motorcycle and crashed into a palm tree in Naples, Florida. He was transported to a hospital in Fort Myers, where he was pronounced dead.
Now grieving guitarist Waldrop is urging fans to reconcile with estranged loved ones - because he's filled with remorse after failing to patch up his differences with Taylor, who left the heavy metal band years ago.
He says, "I'm still having trouble believing it. He and I wrote a lot of music together, travelled all over and even worked construction together outside of the band over the course of 10 years.
"Thanks for everyone's condolences, but please keep his wife and kids in your thoughts/prayers as their loss is unimaginable to me. He was one of my closest friends (like a big brother), but, after personal problems, he split from the band and moved to Florida three years ago. I hadn't spoken with him since.
"Make peace with your family and friends. Life and death are random and you may never get the chance to settle petty differences."
Rock legend Eric Clapton has admitted the era of the guitar may be ''over''.
The actor plays the Queen frontman in the forthcoming movie 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.
