A senior violinist at Russia's Bolshoi Theatre has died after falling into the orchestra pit below the stage on Tuesday (16Jul13).
Viktor Sedov was transported to a local medical centre for treatment, but on Wednesday (17Jul13) he succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
The 65 year old had been a member of the Moscow opera house for four decades and a spokesperson for the company, Katerina Novikova, insists the musician's "sense of humour and extraordinary erudition" will be greatly missed.
This is the latest tragedy to hit the Bolshoi Theatre - the ballet company's artistic director, Sergei Filin, lost his eye sight earlier this year (13) after he was involved in a violent acid attack. Soloist Pavel Dmitrichenko and two alleged accomplices have since been charged in connection with the incident.
The film is almost half an hour longer than 'The Force Awakens'.
The film is expected to continue without Mendes' involvement.
